Getting to Romania

Hey friends!!

On August 6th, I said my “see you laters” and headed off to Gainesville, Georgia one more time for Launch. As you can imagine, my mind and emotions were e v e r y w h e r e but the Lord reminded me that He still had something for me there, that day. We spent about 5 days on AIM campgrounds learning and training about multiple cultures, various ways to evangelize, the urgent need of the Kingdom and much more. During our time there, M Squad grew closer and and closer. It’s incredible how the Lord orchestrates 34 strangers to quickly become family and a safe place to each other.

FINALLY.

THE DAY HAS COME.

WE ARE GOING TO ROMANIA!!!

On August 12th, we all headed to the Atlanta airport and boarded our first flight. Is this even real? Is this ACTUALLY happening?

I thought to myself.

It is! It is!

Our first flight was a little over 8 hours and as much as I had every intention to sleep, my excitement and the butterflies in my belly did not let me and to be honest, I was completely okay with that. After being on the largest plane I’ve ever been on, we landed in Paris,France for a 3 hour lay over.

Does this mean I can say I’ve been to France? Haha maybe not exactly, but I count it in my heart.

Being in the Paris airport I could sense the city’s passion and appreciation for fashion. It was incredible.

We love a window seat.                            At our gate at the Paris Airport.

At this point, I was very sleep deprived and was ready to take a fat nap on our final flight to Romania. To be honest, that flight is kind of a blur but WE MADE IT. We had a few hiccups on the way— my squad mate’s, Natalie, bag unfortunately did not make it but she was prepared with what she needed in her day pack. (Go Natalie!)

Once we landed in the Romanian airport, I began to pray, talking to the Holy Spirit.

Thank you for getting us here safely. You’re so sweet and kind.

Jesus you are good!

Whoa.

As soon as His name left my mouth, I sensed a hesitation in my spirit.

That’s odd.

I thought to myself.

But before I knew it our ministry hosts were there to pick us up.

We loaded up in multiple vans and headed on our 4 hour drive to Craiova, Romania. I was quite hydrated which really worked against me during this drive. (If you know what I mean) Thankfully, our driver had mercy on me and we stopped at a gas station. Can I get a Hallelujah?! Anyways, back to the important stuff 🙂

We arrived to our host’s home and it’s truly beautiful. My squad and I are very grateful and honored to have the opportunity to stay here.

Our host has been educating our squad on Romanian culture and its history. Muslim beliefs are common but areas of the country are deeply rooted in witchcraft and its practices. He mentioned that there’s normally a heaviness in the environment and I would have to agree.

This explains what happened at the airport.

Spiritual warfare is real.

God was already in Romania before we got here and I’m honored that He chooses us, His children, to partner alongside Him to fight for His glory and His people. As we begin this journey in Romania, I ask that you keep us in your prayers. In the area that we’re specifically in, only 0.5% are believers of Jesus.

Please pray for:

  • The young generation of Craiova. May their hearts be softened and their spirits renewed.
  • That the Lord would pour out His spirit on His people like never before.
  • Heavenly Protection for the ministry, M Squad and other partners involved.
